Potty training is down right hard. In fact, potty training is something I’d prefer to outsource, if that was at all possible. Potty training requires 100% dedication and supervision on your part and you absolutely cannot let up if you want it to be successful. After recently potty training Sylvie at exactly 21 months old, I’ve had a lot of questions, so I determined it was best to put together a little guide of our Successful 3-Day Potty Training Method to share. This is exactly what we also followed with Maven (when she was 22 months old) and had the same success. It’s honestly rather crazy for me to say that we are just about a month out from our Day 1 Potty Training with Sylvie and haven’t once looked back. And I am SO happy to say, only baby #3 will be in diapers (besides night time) when he or she arrives.
As for the method…first things first: LOOK FOR THE SIGNS.
I am in no way shape or form going to tell you this method is going to work if you randomly pick a time to start. Our success has hinged on the fact that each child was showing the right signs that we were able to capitalize on.
Here’s what I noted:
- Noticing when she went in her diaper
- Some interest in sitting on the potty chair or toilet
- Some predictability to bathroom schedule (i.e. BM diaper in the afternoon)
- Ability to comprehend what I was asking of her
If the signs are there, trust me, this is the golden ticket. Just beware that the golden ticket does not come with an easy pathway. It is hard work!
Is your child ready? Do you think YOU are ready? You may be a little scared, but if you’re thinking about it, dive in to get the information by downloading the Guide to Potty Training in Just Three Days.
I did read up on all sorts of information before starting our first potty training adventure as well as relied on my sister and my friend Christina (who used this method + had children who gave signs at an early age) to give me sound advice too. I would have to say, it’s good to consult others for your sanity in this training process! I’d love to hear your methods or questions if you’d like to drop them in the comments below.
Good luck + happy potty training!
